Helpful details
Start prepared. Finish confidently.
These answers cover common situations, but document requirements come from the receiving organization, document preparer or your attorney.
Ask imran@moetarynotary.comWhat identification do I need for a notarization in Florida?
Bring a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID, such as a state driver license, state identification card, passport or military ID. The name on the ID should reasonably match the document. Contact us before the appointment if identification may be an issue.
Can you notarize a document that is already signed?
It depends on the required notarial act. For an acknowledgment, a signer may acknowledge a signature made earlier. For a jurat, the signer must take an oath or affirmation and sign in the notary’s presence. The receiving agency or document preparer should tell you which act is required.
What should I have ready for my appointment?
Have the complete document, valid identification for every signer, all signers present and willing, and any required witnesses. Do not leave blank spaces that should be completed, and wait to sign unless you know the document only requires an acknowledgment.
How long does a Florida apostille take?
Turnaround depends on the document, the issuing authority, current state or federal processing times and shipping. Federal authentication generally takes longer than Florida processing. We provide a realistic estimate after reviewing the destination country and document origin.
Do you offer remote online notarization?
Yes, for eligible documents and signers. A remote session uses live recorded audio-video communication, identity proofing and a tamper-evident digital seal. Acceptance and eligibility should be confirmed with the document recipient before scheduling.
Do you travel to hospitals and assisted living facilities?
Yes, subject to facility access and confirmed availability. The signer must be alert, willing and able to communicate directly with the notary. Staff and family members cannot answer for the signer.
Can you provide witnesses?
Witness coordination may be available with advance notice. Tell us how many witnesses the document requires and whether they must be disinterested. Witness availability and any related fee will be confirmed before the appointment.
Can you tell me which document or notarial act I need?
No. A Florida notary cannot select legal documents, choose a notarial act for you or provide legal advice. We can explain the process, identification requirements and authentication steps once the receiving agency, document preparer or attorney gives you the requirement.
What are your fees?
The total can include the permitted notarial fee plus mobile travel, after-hours time, witness coordination, apostille filing, courier or shipping charges. You will receive a clear quote before service begins. Call (321) 319-9848 or email imran@moetarynotary.com.
